Yoga with Jamella Stroud
About Jamella Stroud
Jamella Stroud is a somatic yoga therapist, author, and speaker with a heart for healing humanity through somatic practices. As the creator of the Exhale to Excel yoga program, she uses yoga therapy to foster social-emotional growth, nervous system regulation, and conflict resolution for school-age children. Jamella also runs Sacred Soma Yoga Therapy, a private practice offering 1-on-1 therapy and group classes. She leads the Sacred Connection Retreats, where organizations, teams, and groups experience somatic healing in immersive retreat settings.
Jamella specializes in supporting those healing from childhood trauma, disordered eating, anxiety, depression, PTSD, C-PTSD, stress, grief, and family dynamics, including mother and father wounds.
A proud graduate of Birmingham City Schools and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Jamella transitioned from a decade-long career as an accountant and enrolled agent representing clients before the IRS to pursue her passion for somatic yoga therapy in 2020. Before this, she earned a pastoral leadership degree from Highlands College, though she soon realized her true path lay in somatic healing. Her journey to becoming a yoga therapist included a four-year education, culminating in her graduation from Soul of Yoga Institute in December 2023. To deepen her skills, she traveled to Thailand in 2023, where she became certified in Thai bodywork through the International Training Massage School.
