Thai Yoga Bodywork

with Jamella Stroud

Thai Yoga Bodywork is a therapeutic approach that combines massage and energy work. It involves conscious touch, gentle stretches, range of motion exercises, and other techniques to impact the entire energy and nervous system. This modality is performed with a softer touch, aiming to alleviate pain and restore balance.

It’s considered safe and effective for a wide range of individuals, from strong athletes to frail or elderly clients. After a session, clients often experience reduced or completely relieved pain and an overall sense of well-being.

Thai yoga bodywork specifically aims to improve and balance energy flow in the body by incorporating dynamic-assisted stretching that draws inspiration from yoga and applying physical pressure along energy lines influenced by Chinese acupuncture and Ayurvedic marma points.

My technique relieves your chronic, postural, or sudden-movement pain. I purposefully apply firm pressure with increased intensity to deeper layers of tissue. I can focus on specific areas or your whole body.

I determine and maintain your comfort level by asking questions and attentively listening to your feedback throughout the session.

Afterwards, it’s common to feel some soreness. This happens most often the day following your massage. I highly recommend you take it easy, especially avoiding vigorous activities.

I carefully apply pressure according to your liking. The motions consist of long-flowing strokes aimed at relieving tension.

You’ll leave the table refreshed. This is the best time to unwind at home where you can peacefully relax while listening to your favorite music or enjoying that comforting book. A nap may also be precisely what you need to complement your relaxing message.

This technique combines the same type of pressure I use during my deep tissue massage with measured manipulations and stretching. This one releases tension in the specific body areas often associated with recent and particular physical activity. The goals are to speed muscle recovery, quickly relieve pain, and prevent injuries.
